Ducks have emotions and lots of them. Cecil’s favorite emotions are:
1. Embarrassment!
Squeaking in embarrassment when I kiss her in front of her sisters.
2. Anger!
Quacking angrily when the pool is low and dirty. Literally she screams. She scares herself sometimes when she does. Or when the weather is not to her liking. She will just scream.
3. Frustration!
Charging angrily full force at a mosquito or fly to get it because it has been in her peripheral vision and annoying her. She turns into a dart, she sticks her neck out and bolts. She also whines which you see in my videos of her sometimes.
5. Calm!
Only when she softly quacks and is napping or eating will she be calm. Or in a pool. Or watching jeopardy or an animal show on my phone, I think she likes the quiet but visual stimuli.
6. Fear!
There are a lot of scary things in the world for a duck. Blankets, jingly keys that someone drops too close to her, sunglasses, bags, hoses on the jet setting, loud music, etc. She will hide in your clothes.
Stop that. That’s cannibalism. I hatched my daughter by sitting on her egg for months I could never. (Jk but no I’m not a big meat eater, ducks and chickens are known for practicing cannibalism though!)
